Peter Deng and his family made a difficult five-day journey to Adjumani, Uganda to be safe from war in South Sudan. An experienced farmer, Peter’s already growing crops in the refugee settlement. Attending tree-planting training in Adjumani will add to his skills and help him produce more food. He’s learning how to care for fruit trees and trees whose branches can be harvested for fuel and shelter yet keep on growing. Next, they will plant crops like beans and maize among the trees. Peter and the other trainees will decide what seeds they’ll plant.
You can’t grow a garden without first planting a seed. After losing so much, refugees are looking for ways to support themselves again. Seeds provide healthy food and an income—growing hope for the future. Your gift provides enough seeds for two families. Give the gift of seeds.
