Anola’s auction: a day of compassion and generosity

“The cheque is in the mail.” That was the subject line on the email I received from Anola Laing.

Anola decided to de-clutter her life. She held a huge auction sale in Stavely, Alberta recently. The auction room was full of collectable items from a bygone day.

Anola had decided that the proceeds would benefit a couple of her favourite charities. Canadian Lutheran World relief was one. Specifically, Anola wanted the proceeds to benefit the CLWR Fort McMurray Wildfire Relief Appeal.

She closed her email by saying that the Lord had certainly blessed their day. That’s true of course, but in being blessed she has become a blessing to others. Well done Anola!!

  1. What a wonderful idea. Congratulations to Anola whom I knew as a dedicated member of Evangelical Lutheran Women.
