CLWR is accepting donations to help people affected by the devastating typhoon in the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan has affected up to 9.5 million people and caused extensive damage. It is estimated that at least 10,000 people were killed.

You can donate online by visiting this page: http://clwr.donorshops.com/product/EA31523/typhoonhaiyanrelief.php. You can also donate by phone (1.800.661.2597) or by mail (send cheque to CLWR, 600-177 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0W5). Please indicated you wish to donate to Typhoon Haiyan Relief.

Our focus will be providing emergency shelter to 100,000 families affected by the disaster. We will be partnering with our American counterpart, Lutheran World Relief, in doing this work, and your donations will support this. Other immediate priorities include drinking water and non-food items for people in evacuation centres (including blankets, personal hygiene items, etc.).

The Canadian government will be matching donations up to December 9, 2013.

Lutheran World Relief provides situation reports on the relief response in the Philippines. Click here to read the November 11 report.
