Support for Alberta flood relief “stampedes” in

Wendy Brownlee of St. John Lutheran Church in Calgary sent us a story and some photos from their Stampede breakfast earlier this month. The breakfast was a fundraiser for Alberta flood relief:

“We have been holding a Stampede Breakfast at our church for over 20 years. We don’t charge for the breakfast as is traditional in Calgary. We just ask for donations to cover the cost of the food if people are able, but if not all are always welcome.

This year we received a message the week before the breakfast that Faithlife Financial would match funds raised up to $250.00 for Alberta Flood relief. We had to work fast to get the message out to the congregation that we wanted to collect funds to help our neighbours affected by the flood as well as to secure our grant before it was time for the breakfast the following week.

All of that was accomplished with God’s help and I am happy to report that we were able to collect $1030.00 on such short notice.”

Thanks for your hard work!
