In late June, I had the pleasure of spending nine days in Southern Ontario raising awareness about the work of CLWR. Activities included hosting a CLWR Awareness Builder training workshop in Kitchener, speaking to congregations in Elmira, Unionville and Oakville as well as meeting and greeting delegates to the ELCIC’s Eastern Synod Assembly held in Toronto.
Squeezed in between these events, I travelled to Hanover, Ontario one day to meet Pastor Mark Koehler, pastor of First St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark hosts a radio show every Sunday afternoon on CFBW 91.3 FM Bluewater Radio. Knowing I was in area, Pastor Mark invited me to the station to tape an interview about the work of CLWR.
On June 23, we spent about two hours taping segments about disaster relief, community development, refugee resettlement and the We Care program. Pastor Mark was then left with the task of editing out all my miscues.
The final product will be aired this coming Sunday afternoon, July 18 at 3:00 Eastern. The show is called Take God’s Word for It. Those outside of the station’s listening area, which stretches from Wiarton to Arthur and Kincardine to Flesherton, can catch the show by logging onto CFBW’s website at www.bluewaterradio.ca.
